Driving in Northern Alberta requires more than just road skills; it requires the assurance that the load will stay put, regardless of the terrain. Our course empowers drivers to protect their cargo, their vehicle, and the public.
Course Highlights:
- Cargo Legislation: Deep dive into the rules governing transport in Western Canada.
- Equipment Mastery: Proper selection and use of straps, winches, and chains.
- Shift Prevention: Techniques to prevent cargo movement during transport on uneven terrain.
- Driver Responsibilities: Clarifying the legal liability of the operator.
Training Details:
- Location: 65021 Highway 43, Grande Prairie, AB.
- Duration: Approximately 4 hours (includes practical component).
- Certification: Upon successful completion (80% minimum on both theory and practical components), you’ll receive a certificate.
- Re-certification: Required every three years.
- Prerequisites: All students must bring valid government-issued identification.
- PPE Required: 6″ safety boots, safety gloves, hard hat, safety glasses, and hi-vis vests.
- Cancellations: 24-hour notice is required. Late arrivals or no-shows will forfeit the full course fee. Qualified substitutions are permitted up to the course start date.
