Course Overview:
Experience Realistic Training with the FiAR System
FiAR revolutionizes fire extinguisher training by leveraging augmented reality (AR) to deliver an incredibly realistic and engaging experience.
What makes FiAR unique is its capability to create custom training scenarios. Users can scan their own environment to add virtual props, define fire types, adjust size, and control the number of fires, then save these personalized scenarios for future use. This adaptability ensures a highly relevant and impactful training experience for all.
FiAR’s powerful applications span various sectors where traditional training is often limited:
- Industrial Training: Delivers realistic fire extinguishing experiences to industrial workforces.
- Residential and Commercial: Provides engaging fire safety training for employees, managers, landlords, and tenants.
- Schools, Education, and Outreach: Improves fire safety education for youth and supports community outreach programs.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: What is the FiAR system used in the Edmonton course?
A: FiAR stands for “Fire Augmented Reality.” It is a training tool that superimposes a digital fire onto a real-world background, allowing students to use a modified extinguisher to fight the “fire” safely in a classroom setting.
Q: Do I need to bring my own PPE?
A: Yes. Even though we use simulators, we treat the training environment as a live industrial site. You must bring safety boots, a hard hat, gloves, safety glasses, and a hi-vis vest.
Q: Can you bring the simulator to our office in Edmonton?
A: Yes! The FiAR system is portable. We can conduct fire extinguisher training in your boardroom or warehouse, provided there is adequate space.
