Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: Is H2S Alive the same as H2S Awareness?
A: No. H2S Alive is the industry-standard, 8-hour certification required for site access in the oil and gas industry. “Awareness” courses are typically shorter and do not meet the requirements of most major operators.

Q: Do I need to be clean-shaven for the course in Edmonton?
A: No, you do not need to be clean-shaven for the training course. However, you must be clean-shaven to achieve a proper face seal when working on a site that requires respiratory protection.

Q: Can I take H2S Alive online?
A: No. Energy Safety Canada mandates that the full H2S Alive course be delivered in-person to ensure proper training on breathing apparatus. (There is a “Blended” renewal option for eligible holders, which we also support).
