Course Overview:
Hosted at our Edmonton Operations Centre on 110 Avenue NW, this course combines the precision of forklift operation with the utility of the skid steer (Bobcat). It is designed to be efficient without cutting corners, ensuring you get the seat time needed to pass the practical evaluation for both machines.
What You Will Learn:
- Forklift Operations: Mastering Class 1, 4, & 5 sit-down counterbalanced forklifts, including stability triangles and load centers.
- Skid Steer Proficiency: Understanding the unique steering mechanics, blind spots, and attachment changes of a skid steer.
- Site Safety: Navigating busy shared workspaces with pedestrians and other equipment.
- Pre-Use Inspections: Developing a routine for checking hydraulics, tires, and lifting mechanisms daily.
Training Details:
- Location: 20204 110 Avenue NW, Edmonton, AB.
- Two Day Duration: New & Experienced operators – Approximately 6 hours each day (includes practical component).
- Certification: Upon successful completion (80% minimum on both theory and practical components), you’ll receive a certificate.
- Re-certification: Required every three years.
- Prerequisites: All students must bring valid government-issued identification.
- PPE Required: 6″ safety boots, safety gloves, hard hat, safety glasses, and hi-vis vests.
- Cancellations: 24-hour notice is required. Late arrivals or no-shows will forfeit the full course fee. Qualified substitutions are permitted up to the course start date.
