Course Overview:
Hosted at our Head Office, this one-day course provides the critical knowledge required to work safely in areas with fall hazards. We combine comprehensive theory with practical, hands-on exercises to ensure you are site-ready.
What You Will Learn:
- Fall Arrest vs. Restraint: Understanding the difference and when to use each system.
- Equipment Inspection: How to properly inspect harnesses, lanyards, and anchor points before use.
- Physics of a Fall: Calculating free fall distance, total clearance, and swing fall hazards.
- Rescue Planning: Developing simple rescue plans to prevent suspension trauma.
Training Details:
- Location: 20204 110 Avenue NW, Edmonton, AB (Easy access from Anthony Henday & Yellowhead Trail).
- Duration: Approximately 8 hours (includes practical component).
- Certification: Upon successful completion of the course and achieving a minimum score of 70% on the examination, you’ll receive a Certificate of Completion valid for three years.
- Re-certification: Required every three years.
- Prerequisites: All students must bring valid government-issued
- Cancellations: 24-hour notice is required. Late arrivals or no-shows will forfeit the full course fee. Qualified substitutions are permitted up to the course start date.

Q: Is this the same as the OSSA Fall Protection course? A: Yes. OSSA (Oil Sands Safety Association) has merged into Energy Safety Canada. This ESC Fall Protection course replaces the old OSSA Fall Protection but maintains the same high standards and site recognition.
